Sick!

ELK 1991

Yes, that was SICK, but I am sick of the sickness in our house.

Brittany was up every two hours last night like a newborn baby. Today she is sporting a 101' temperature and will not take her coat off. She lives in her coat. It keeps her warm and at 77 lbs & she needs every extra layer. But today, when she needs to take it off, she will not listen.

Hailey stayed home one more day. Her cough is almost gone but threw up yesterday.

Another day, one at a time!

Here is one of my favorite new tv shows...

My Big Redneck
Wedding

We are not rednecks, but the one part I hate about living in the country and that reminded me of this show, is the picture above. Hunting for ELK is sooooooooooooo sick.

That picture was taken in 1991.
The first year I ever saw a dead elk, being a newlywed, Bob talked me into helping him cut it up, wrap the meat, and freeze that elk. It did not last long, I was pregnant with Brittany at the time, and my gag reflex took over. (Thank Goodness &I never ate any of it)

Today, elk, deer or any other wild red meat is not allowed in our extra freezer in the garage. The only meat that is allowed is from Bob sisters cattle and her pigs we buy and have professionally processed. (They own a grade A dairy farm)
Edit: Fish are allowed

From Whitney's Myspace

I got this forwarded to me by my own Miss Whitney. She is still really worn out from the mono,
but made it to school yesterday. She came home, took a nap tell 7:30pm, did her homework, and went back to bed.

Now, my Miss Hailey has the croup. (coughing that sounds like a dog) She has been home for the last two days.

Next year, for sure, we are all getting our flu shots. I hate getting sick & I am tired of everyone getting sick.

RIP

jerry
Bob's uncle died on Friday.

Thursday, February 21, 2008

Thankful Thursday

Isn't it nice when you find some pictures that you have forgotten all about?

390173-R1-16
Just look, you can almost see Whitney's tonsils. (She has been sleeping all day, but seems to feel a little bit better)

390173-R1-17
I must have been sick when I took these pictures. The moment a virus hits my system, I get dark circles under my eyes.

390173-R1-19
Isn't that sweet?
Then look down and see Devin sticking his tongue out at me. LOL
(The hideous chair and ottoman are now in the basement. They were an early 1990's purchase)

Camping out in front of the TV & watching a movie are two of my kids favorite things to do.
Can you guess what movie they were watching??

I love my babies & I cannot believe how fast they grow up.

Here is how you make it/them.

things you need to make it

You will need these things
  1. scrapbook paper
  2. an old record
  3. pen/pencil
  4. mod podge
  5. scissors
  6. sponge brush
  7. paper towels
  8. clear push pins to hang it up
  9. something to trace a uniformed circle from. I just happened to use the sand paper & it even has the center hole.
DSC01463

trace the template, whatever you can find to cover up the record label

DSC01464

trace on the wrong side of the scrapbook paper so you do not see the pen marks

DSC01465

place it on the record

DSC01486

flip the record over and match up the little circle with the records hole

then poke the pen or pencil you use to trace the circle threw the center.
hold it up to the light to find it

push the paper all the way through

DSC01477

put a little mod podge on the back of the record

Looks good huh?
Whitney, not so much, she has strep throat again.

& this was my inspiration.

from pretty in pink

from the movie Pretty in Pink.

I wish I owned a record player!

Tons of things are going on! But in the middle of it all, Devin & I went to DI in search of some vynil records. They have tons and tons of them for .50¢ a piece.

Here are some of the best ones I bought....

~~~
My mom liked them.
~~~

Bob likes them.
{Remember he grew up in Idaho and is 6 years older then me}
Ok, I admit it, I do too.

Oh, Donny & Marie. When my littler sister was born in 1975, I honestly thought my mom named her after MARIE OSMOND. My sisters name is Julie Marie, Marie after my grandmother's middle name.

I listened to this one in grade school P.E.

Tar-jay

Whitney and I went on a late night run to
for some retail therapy.

After working for them twice in my life time, spending every dime I made at Tar-jay, I know where all of the
items are hidden and if you find anything ending in a 4 cents or a 8 cents it's a real score. {the lowest marked down price} I love finding good deals and those little red tags.

Paint Crazy MOM

sandcastle
credits here

I am really wishing I was in Oregon today. Being able to just jump into the car and got to the beach in less then an hour was always a great thing to do on a Saturday! I have not been there for 3 1/2 years. HO HUM. The snow and lack of color outside is starting to get to me.

Speaking of color....

I moved on and painted Whitney's room Siren Pink.

Sorry

I am sorry if you read my blog with blog lines, or google reader. I hit publish post before I proof read and then go back and edit.

Do you read your horoscope??

Look how fitting mine is for today....

I do not want to got the state building.

I am having

an OH Sh_nikes day.

Like an air head, I sent Hailey off to school in her swim suit, not reading the note that was sent home. Around 10am I got a phone call telling me that Hailey had an accident and needed a change of clothes. Crap! The school secretary told me they were just suppose to bring there swim suit and a towel in a bag and leave them at school for next Tuesday. OK, I guess I need to read all of the notes that my kids bring home. Hailey did not make it in time to strip completely, take her swim suit off, to use the potty. HELLO....

Then last night at Wal*fart, I went to pick Brittany's medicine up and I found out that she is not qualified and dose not have Katie Beckett medicaid coverage?? ()@&*(&$ So, first thing this morning I found out that I never filled out one form by Jan. 31. ONE lossy form, and she dose not have Medicaid. SO this afternoon I have to go to the state build, fill out the one form that I forgot about, have an interview, and pray they can retro her medicaid from the 31st of Jan. Stress.

But on a happier note...

The valentines were a hit at school and worth the mad rush to get them finished.
I am a procrastinator, remember?
Whitney was not into handing them out, but I sent them to both grandparents.

Went out to lunch with Bob then shopping. He got a new pair of black leather work boots and I got a new RED wool coat. The best thing about the coat, it actually fits. Long enough in the arms and it's not a man's coat.... (Remember I am 6'2" and never find a women's coat with long arms)

I finished painting Desiree's room. It turned out really nice. I am still searching for the perfect bedding to match. Something with white, brown, and turquoise. I saw some cute bed in a bag sets on www.jcp.com, so I might go over there today after the interview saga.

Have a good weekend!

update- 3 hours in the state building and it will be fixed by next week.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I had a crazy night putting together Valentine's. I made them digital this year.
The twins two school classes are having a combine party today. Between the two of them I had to make 80 cards with 80 treats. UGH Thank goodness for dum dum suckers.

Brittany

Hailey

Brittany had her first official seizure at high school, yesterday. I was a wreck when I got the phone call. With only one working car and I did not have it, I started to panic. Bob was on a job sight and did not answer his cell phone on the first try & my mil was not home too. On the third try I got a hold of Bob and he went and picked her up ASAP. The teacher and the 2 aides were frightened by her seizure. Seizures are nothing new for us or Brittany, but at a new school, and new teachers this year, I was really worried. Today she is fine, but is probably getting sick. She was excited to go to school and hand out her Valentine's.

Bob is taking me out for lunch today. We planned on a noon lunch but he hit a huge pot hole and got a flat. He just called at 1:23pm and said the tire is fixed and he's on his way to take me out to lunch!

Have a happy Valentines day!

XOXOXO

It's growing on me.

{Bob says he likes it, but it sure is a differnt color???}

Been Busy

~I found out last week that my youngest sister who lives in Maryland is having a baby girl in June. This will be there second child and first dd.

~We went to the Rexburg temple dedication. We went to the 4th session and Elder Russell M. Nelson conducted. It was wonderful. The one saying, or quote I really remember is from President Bednar.

Much is given, much is required.

~Look at my oldest brother, he has always been up on finding a good adventure.
He is in the Provo, Utah canyon.

~I went to my kids IEP meeting yesterday. I always get so upset about going to them. I feel like a failure having kids who need extra help learning. But it was fine after all and switched blogspot addresses with the resource room teacher. HI Mrs Rogers!

~I survived with out my computer Saturday & Sunday.
My computer was infected with the torjan horse virus.
Not this kind...
But, honestly it was the first thing that came to my mind....
My home teacher fixed it for me!!! He worked for DELL a few years ago and is quite the computer man. Thank you so much Ted & Kelli!!!

~Took all 5 kids to the dentist for their 6 month cleaning. Note to self: Never do that again.
Brittany needs her 3 wisdom teeth pulled and the dentist referred me to an oral surgeon. Devin, Desiree, & Hailey are cavity free. Whitney on the other hand, has 6 cavities, 4 of them are tiny and probably do not need to be filled but, she is getting braces in April.

~Started to fix things up in our house. I bought a shag RED rug and matching pillows for my front room. And went wild and bought 3 gallons of colored paint to finish decorating the twins bedrooms. I started to paint Desiree's room today,
and let me tell you, I HATE IT.
My batteries are dead for my camera or I would take a picture of it.
It is about the color of the torjan wrapper.
Bob is going to kill me........
& I could die for actually painting it that color~

Cell phone camera to the rescue.

021208_14321

& it's self portrait Tuesday.

021208_14331
YUCKY isn't it....

I am off to buy more paint to fix it.

Today has been one of those days....

First thing this morning, Brittany special ed bus, aka the short bus, got stuck in the snow pile while backing out of our drive way. I did not notice it tell I heard an engine that sounded like it was being revved. I had just turned on my computer, and was to busy to go see what it was.

020508_08041

After I read a few emails, I could still hear the revving of an engine. I walked into the front room to see Brittany's bus stuck and my neighbor across the street trying to dig the bus out.
Dressed in my favorite Old Navy black and red plaid cotton PJ bottoms, and old tee shirt, tennis shoes without socks, and Bob's smelly work coat, I went out to help. A county snow plow was at the end of our dead end street, and by the time I went out there it had pulled up and the driver started to help get the bus out too.

020508_08051

Yes that is me, the wide one in the middle, freezing my pants off.
While all of this was happening, Brittany was laughing on the bus. She was probably wondered what I was doing outside in the snow in my PJ's.
Whitney took these pictures, I told her too, because it is Self Propriate Tuesday. LOL
We tried everything to get it out of the 3ft drift; sand from the snow plow truck, plywood from our garage, shovels, telling the handicapped kids to ROCK back and forth (MOST handicapped kids already rock back and forth naturally) when the bus driver was flooring it(picturing the bus running right into our cement mailbox. It's white in the other picture), and not being so smart we even tried to give it a push. Remember I had no socks on, PJ's, and snow up to my knees. That was it for me, I wimped out and came in and watched another snow plow truck come to the rescue.

"I was in my ____, and i noticed this ______. my only thought was, "why do i still have this hanging around my house?!?"

020508_20351
Brittany is holding it

I was in my closet, and noticed this purple silk dress I wore to my high school graduation in 1989, and wondered, why do I still have this??? Who knows, maybe because it's silk and probably will never ever buy, wear, or own a silk dress again. Heaven knows it will not fit again.

020508_21111
Whitney tired it on.

020508_21121
It even has a butt ruffle.
