I am trying to type this without being caught or asked what am I doing, so check back I am not finished........
Life has changed as I have known it. Gone are the carefree sahm days.
The truth, my dh suffers from manic depression and was even diagnosed with.... the "bipolar" word in 2003. Through the years he has managed to keep things together by self medicating with over the counter medicines (Tylenol pm, benadryl, and sometimes in the past some of Brittany's meds The DR knows too), & the "sleep three days straight" ever 5 months, and so on.
He had a full mental break down in December 2003. Two weeks before Christmas, od'ed on 68 benardyl, did not know who he was for two weeks, and took 3 months off of work because he wanted to use his "long term disability." It was HELL for me, if you really want to know. I gained 50 lbs, had to deal with it all....
I had to count and lock up medicine. Worry if he'd get up and go to work, be a snoop and wonder what he was hiding, count and recount pills of ever form, etc. He even tried the psychologist route for a while but hated the medicines. Nothing worked in his eyes. So, for the past five years we have had our ups and downs & things started to finally look up. He regained some of my trust, he was finally moving up at work, but then when his job was threatened all hell broke loose. He was crushed with being demoted instead of being laid off.
Saturday, was the start of Bob's "sleep three days straight." The
screw family, church, & work attitude.
It is a private blog & I admit I have a potty mouth. It keeps me sane and not violent. My bishop even knows it.
To keep things normal as normal as it can be, I had on my happy face for the kids.

Sunday stuff part 2
5. Survived church, but noticed as I was driving to church that I had a beach spot on my black shirt. O'well.
Hailey broke Desiree's bracelet during the sacrament. Beads flew everywhere and when I was not looking Hailey chucked a couple a Desiree's head. NICE huh? Our old bishop and his wife were sitting behind us and he had a hard time trying not to laugh. I was mad but secretly want to join our old bishop and laugh too.
6. Made dinner & then these.

7. I had to wait for Whit to check her email, facebook, & myspace....

8. I laid here and figured out how to upload pictures from my phone directly to my flickr account.

I need to put something there on that wall, but I have no idea what.
9. Now it's my turn to surf.
How was your Sunday?

Sunday stuff
1. It's 11:40 and church starts at 1pm. I really wish I could just sluff. SHHHH I am not in the mood to tell & yell at 5 kids to ready.
2. Brittany has an awful cough and I should probably keep her home. Last Thursday we spent 5 hours in the ER. She had another high fever and was complaining about her "heart hurting." I took her in and she had a chest X-ray & several other tests. Everything is fine, but deep down I know she is getting sick and they should have given her an RX anyways.

3. I have been spending to much time on Facebook. In January I opened on up to keep in touch with my oldest brother & share pictures with him. But lately, I have started to find people from back in my high school days. Pretty funny.
If you have one add me.

4. Ok, I better turn this off and start yelling for my kids to get ready..... If I don't go, no one goes.
& plus we have a new primary presidency.

My Wedding Present
The night before Bob and I were sealed in the Portland, Oregon temple we exchanged gifts.
I gave him a gold watch and he gave me these...

From our wedding day on, I only wear them when I go to the temple. I wear them and remember that special day.

This was my wedding ring box & where I keep my earrings.
"Was" meaning my first wedding ring that was flushed down the toilet by my twins in '98.
The ring has been replaced and these earrings will always be special to me.
Someday, I will pass them on to my girls, maybe for their wedding day.

I love you Bob!
(They were also made out his first finances engagement ring. Two year before we had even met, he was engaged to another girl. This girl cheated on him and Bob broke things off. But she was the reason we met. This girl and I lived in the same apartment building at Rick's. We became good friends and she introduced me to Bob. The 3 of us would hang out just like good friends. She started to think Bob liked her again, but Bob only hung out around because he want to date me. Well, the day came, he asked me out, and our friendship died. She still hates me today, but has also been married 3 times. When we first started to talk about getting married, he asked me if I wanted her ring. I said NO of course, and got to pick out this one. He traded in her big diamond and had the gold melted down and and her little diamonds were made in to earrings for me. They were meant for me and our temple wedding. Long story short and 18 years later, he picked the right girl, me.)

WHAT?
Brittany is sick, again.
7pmThursday-Before I left for Relief Societies Ladies Night Out, Brittany looked pail and told me her "HEART HURT." She felt a little warm, gave her two Motrin, but then thought she might just throw up. She has said that before when she has puked in the past. I was still a little concerned called Bob up from the basement to watch her while I went to Relief Society. While I was gone he said she was shaky and then notice fluid on the back of her right ear. The skin behind her ear was bright red and raw. He sat and watched TV with her in her room tell i got back. She seemed fine tell....
1am- She woke me up and said the same thing, "Heart Hurts." I felt her and took her temperature. 101.6' OH crap. Two more Motrin and I had her lay back down.
3am-She woke me up again. Her fever was down a degree to 100' This time I gave her two tylenol and we watch TV together. Nothing is on at 3am
5am-I woke up and took her temperature. 98.6' and went back to sleep.
8am- I called the Dr's office who preformed the 15 minuet ear tubes surgery on Monday. He was out of town and his office is closed today. Then I called number for the service for the Dr on call. Dr Hinckley The lady on the other end said he'd call around lunch time. So, I waited and her fever has not returned.
1:10pm-The on call DR called. I told him what was going on, thinking she has an infection.
He replied with, "she might have a parcel collapsed lung or developing pneumonia from the surgery." WHAT? I know she's had pneumonia before, but what kind of bedside manner is that? The DR ask if she was up and about? YES. Fever gone? YES, but I am still giving her motrin & tylenol. Then told me not to bring her into the ER for an X-ray tell her fever is over 102'. Then told me to have her try and blow up a balloon and have her walk around and to not stay in one position for two long. Sure, I understand the blowing on the balloon will help inflate her lungs but if he was that concerned, I would rather bring her in to get check. Then he told me to keep her up and moving & not to let her lay down and rest for a second time. OK Then he asked what medicine her ear nose and throat DR prescribed. I told him, Ofloxacin ear drops and the dosage. Then the on call Dr told me it was the wrong dosage & then back tracked and said "But, he know what he's doing." (Refering to the ear nose & throat DR)
I hung up confused and now I am starting to worry.
1:20pm-I called Bob and told him what the DR on call said. The first thing out of his mouth was, "WHAT" Then, "write that all down." Proof that the DR on call is a nut job.
2pm-I had her up and moving. Riding her bike but looking awfully pail.

3pm-Now she is dead tired on the coach. Bob is coming home soon, and I think we'll take her into just in case, for an chest x-ray.

Sometimes I wonder about some DR's & the Hospital in our town.

The Air Hog (7-9-08)
When my dad was here last week, Devin finally found someone to fly his

Air Hog with.
First, they had to charge the airplane with the batteries in the remote controller. Or so they said.

The light on the airplane turns green when it's fully charged and ready to fly.

Do you know anyone who likes to pull weeds? For free?
I was to comfortable in my Adirondack chair to get any closer.

Same with the next couple of times.
When Devin finally got it in the air and I stopped taking pictures, &
it landed here...

on our roof.
Devin was all gung-ho to climb up there and get it. But, I put a stop to that & I told him, "No!" & to go find Bob's 35' measuring tape to knock it down with.
Then my dad said he'd climb up there and get it.
My 69 year old Dad.
Good thing my mom was in the house and did not see him on the roof.

"I'm ready! 3-2-1 Take off."

It flew around to the front of the house and then crashed again.

I am glad my dad climbed up there to fetch it.
I might be super tall, but I am also afraid of heights.
The last flight, Devin got it fly down the street.

And it landed in their tree.
Good thing they did not see it.
In the end, Devin got to fly his air hog and to create memories with

Grandpa Dave.

OK, I won't go private.
OK, I won't go private. Thank you for all the concerned emails.
Stress has finally got to me.
And sometimes I feel like I need to sugar coat things I blog about.
~Brittany not feeling all that hot & surgery.
~Company for two weeks. Nephews & Parents in the house
~Bob's job might be threatened. His boss needs to make a lot of cut backs. Several people have been laid off too. Keep him in your prayers.
7-17-08- Bob is NOT getting laid off.
Just his car allowance taken away & in return will now get paid for overtime.
So, basically it's a wash. PHEW.
~I need to find a job and the stress that comes with it.
~I feel inadequate for finding the type of job that I really want. AKA no bachelor's degree
I just need to have faith that things will work themselves out.

Slushes at the park
On July 1st, we had a little cousin fun at Tauphus park.
We all stopped here first

during this of course,

and got everyone slushes.
Then we met up with my favorite SIL Trina, my BIL John, & my MIL at the park.

Hailey is on a the little spinning thing.
She could not get it going unless she had help.

(Sorry I could not resist. I animated it along with a few others.)

But Devin could.

He had it really moving tell that girl came over and told him to

>Slushy break<

Then we finally saw...

"HI"

Let's Play!

The handicapped swing was their favorite.

2nd was the "sway fun"

"Now we can go down the slide!"

Grandma & Brittany watched over the water balloons and slushes.

Hungry hungry hippo!

Then some 10 year old, that we did not know, peed right in the middle of the playground and we left. It was a fun afternoon, otherwise.
~~~~
I did not post these when it happened because my BIL John's ex-wife knows my blog address. She will not leave John alone and I did not want her to know what fun her boys were having while they were here. She had the nerve to email me and ask me to watch her boys because she did not want them left alone with my in laws. I went ballistic and emailed her some choice words about the choices she had made in her life. She of course emailed me back all lies.
My brother in law almost died in December. During that time she decided to STEP OUT on her dh with her best friends husband. NICE, huh. That's why they got divorced.
And these are the days of my life, crazy like a soap opera.
Tuesday crap
Brittany's surgery went well. She now has ear tubes and hopefully will not have any more ear infections.
My kids are fighting over stupid things.
And they want me to take them somewhere. I don't think so.
I am burnt out.
Burnt out from having company for the past 2 weeks
Burnt out from the lack of $$$
Burnt out!
Sharing time
I have to give sharing time today and I hope it turns out ok.
I found most of this lesson here and then finished the lesson up with a few of my crafty ideas.
~~~~~
I will prepare to be a missionary by being faithful and obedient.
Prepare for this sharing time by taking the batteries out of a flashlight and placing a piece of masking tape on each battery, write faithfulness on one battery and obedience on another. Put the batteries in your pocket but keep the flashlight in tact as if it is ready to use. Come into the Primary room excitedly telling them that you got a new flashlight and you can't wait to show them how it works. Talk very quickly about how much you love your new flashlight because you JUST bought it and it's even your favorite color...etc.
Just as you get ready to turn on the flashlight, ask the Primary if they are really ready to see your new flashlight in action. Turn it on and then act very dramatically upset that it didn't turn on. Have the children check the switch to make sure it is on. Talk a lot about why it may not work. When someone mention batteries, take the batteries out of your pocket but do not show the labels yet. Insert the batteries. Turn on the flashlight, showing each child your cool new flashlight. Explain that your flashlight did not work because the source of power was not IN the flashlight. Explain that this is true with ourselves. Take out the batteries and show them that they say faithfulness and obedience. Tell them that our "lights" can shine when we are obedient and faithful and others will see this and want the same source in their lives.
Jesus Christ taught those who followed Him that they were “the light of the world.” He said that you don’t light candles and put them under baskets. When you light a candle, you put it on a candlestick so that it gives light to everyone in the room. He told us, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Read Matt. 5:14–16.)
What does that mean? It means that if you are a good example, if you “let your light shine,” then when other people see your good example, they will know that you love Heavenly Father and they, too, will want to honor Him.
How can you let your light shine? One way is by keeping the commandments and choosing the right. When we are honest, when we keep the Sabbath holy, when we are kind, we are letting our lights shine. When we obey the Word of Wisdom, when we dress modestly, when we use the names of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ reverently, we are letting our lights shine. Each small light makes a big difference!
There is another way we can let our lights shine. Elder Henry B. Eyring’s friends call him “Hal.” He told a story in General Conference about a friend he once worked with. His friend was a good person who loved his family. Elder Eyring never told his friend about the gospel and how families can be together forever. One day, he heard that his friend had died. Elder Eyring said that he sometimes wonders if he will meet his friend in heaven and if his friend will say, “Hal, you knew—why didn’t you tell me?” Now Elder Eyring shares his testimony with people all over the world. When we share what we know about the gospel with others, we are letting our lights shine.
Call up various parents of children in senior Primary and ask them to share a time when (name) was faithful and obedient and let their light shine. Share these examples with the children and have them guess "who" they think you are referring to. Then say, "I didn't have the opportunity to call all of your parents, but I'm positive they would all give me "glowing" reports on each of you."
SUMMARY: Ask the children if they've ever been afraid of the dark, or been in a deep, dark cave. Then they know how welcome a ray of light can be. Even a small light makes a big difference in a dark place. Some of your friends haven't got the gospel in their lives. Say, "Your friends need your light. They need your examples. The greatest way for you to be a missionary is to be faithful and obedient to the gospel." Share your testimony with the children.
~~~~~~~~~
In the end, I am going to hand this out in an envelope with each child's name on it.
I found someone's mission call on google. Copied President Monson's signature and stationary so it looks like the real thing.
Then have one of the kids in my class read it out loud.
I am going to call each class up to the front, one at a time, and hand them flash light, and while they face the rest of us and say,
"I will be a light to the world, by my good works and example."
Then pin them as member missionaries with these...
I printed them on card stock and had them laminated. Cut them out and super glued the pin on the back.
If you would like to have a copy of this for FHE, or your primary click here.
I found most of this lesson here and then finished the lesson up with a few of my crafty ideas.
Even a small light makes a big difference in a dark place. Some of your friends haven't got the gospel in their lives. Say, "Your friends need your light. They need your examples. The greatest way for you to be a missionary is to be faithful and obedient to the gospel." Share your testimony with the children.
~~~~~~~~~
In the end, I am going to hand this out in an envelope with each child's name on it.

I found someone's mission call on google. Copied President Monson's signature and stationary so it looks like the real thing.
Then have one of the kids in my class read it out loud.
I am going to call each class up to the front, one at a time, and hand them flash light, and while they face the rest of us and say,
"I will be a light to the world, by my good works and example."
Then pin them as member missionaries with these...

I printed them on card stock and had them laminated. Cut them out and super glued the pin on the back.

If you would like to have a copy of this for FHE, or your primary click here.

Out to eat with Grandpa & Grandma

For dinner the first night my parents were here, my Dad took us all out to eat to 5 & Diner. It's a 50's diner & I love that place.

The waitress took this picture. It turn out pretty good but everyone on my side of the table, look orange. It was the lighting.

Brittany looks pale because she is wearing her favorite tangerine jacket. I hate it.
"What should we get to eat?"

"I want a cheese burger."

"I want a PLAIN cheese burger." Devin hates any sauce. Catchup, Mustard, Ranch, Mayo, etc.

"Let's get some onion rings first!"

"Here Hailey"

"YUM!"
They tasted GOOD!

But, I was to busy taking pictures to eat more then one.

"Take my picture."

"SLURP" Whitney is a girl after my own heart, drinking a Dr Pepper.

"Grandpa, you need to clip your nose hairs."

Bob did not want me to check his. LOL (& not really)

"No more pictures, Let's eat."
If I could, I'd have a black and white kitchen again and have it retro just like this diner. My Grandma Allen, my dad's mom, even had a table like that. But her was the original from the 1950's. I wonder who has it now?

Totally Addicted
Thanks to Janie.
I forgot to take a picture of my first baby bracelet, Darn it.
But here is the second one I made.

I went crazy and spent $25 on jewelry making tools. (and a few beads) I am totally addicted to it now. I cannot stop thinking about what I should try and make...
My niece had her baby Tuesday night. A baby girl named Kbree and weighed in at 6lbs. I whipped up the braclet above and we went up to the hospital to she her and the new baby. But missed her, she had already gone home, under 24 hours.
Nuts, huh? I think I did that after I had Brittany, but every kid after that I stayed longer each time.

This picture was taken 4 days before she delivered with her husband Peen.
I took a ton more pictures and my parents have left, so watch for several adventure in pictures.

mlm- wedding day & my parents are coming
In 2 weeks it's our 18th wedding anniversary.

YEEK.
I wish I looked like that, but I am still flexible.

~~~
Tomorrow, my parents are coming for their annual 24 hour visit. I am stressed. No, really I am freaking out about it. The house is sorta clean, I just need to finish the hall bathroom and wash some sheets for them to sleep on. I always want them to come, but this time, I am not ready for it. Or I do not want to hear my mom rip on me for my weight and for not getting my dental stuff done.
For years they stay over one night and then leave for Utah, where my oldest brother lives plus aunts, uncles, & mom's mom. My mom cannot handle Brittany, it's sad but true. She makes my mom nervous. She needs to know it also makes me really depressed that they do not stay longer then 24 hours. What about me their oldest daughter? My mom has been at my baby sister's house for 2 weeks, helping her with her new baby. She never did that for me when I had a baby, not even when I had my twins. Before that she help my younger sister for 6 months watching her kids every week. And before that stayed with my brothers kids for 3 months. And all's I get is a lousy 24 hours and maybe taken out to eat by my dad who feels guilty?
I am sad. Their loss. Right?
Bob & I are fighting about this. If I do not say something to them this time, he will. They do not read my blog, my baby sister dose once in a while, she knows it bugs me, but I have never said to their face.
Wish me luck.
beautiful girls
I got to play with this again. I am drooling over it, but just thankful for my niece letting me use it.
Here is one of my favorite pictures out of the 500 plus I have taken in the past two days. It's of my niece Kristen and Miss Whitney.
Aren't they pretty?
America's Next Top Models in the making.
And look how sweet my sister's baby is.
I started to make her birth announcement.
I will not post it tell I am finished, but here is one of my favorite pictures of Mackenna.
happy 4th of July
I went to bed to late last night & woke up super cranky. It's my job to go early and save a spot for our family to sit for the 4th of July parade. (21 members) I got the kids & 2 cousin's up, dressed, feed, & took half of them with me. We got our usual spot at the beginning of the parade. But sitting there people watching for an hour and a half, I started to take a picture and noticed I forgot my sd card for my camera. Ugh. Bob offered to go back and it. He drove home and got the wrong one. He got my old 16 mb card that only holds 4 pictures. I didn't say anything. 5 miles for 4 pictures and here are the pictures.
I took almost 500 pictures at the bbq. Watch for them.
Feeding the ducks
This adventure was captured on film or really an sd card on June 1st, 2008. Prior to Whitney getting braces and Desiree getting a short bob hair cut.
~~
I need to be cleaning the bathroom, but I cannot find the will power and gumption to do it. Company has gone out for the day and I am doing nothing because it's to hot and we have no A/C.
~~
All five kids piled into our truck and off we went to feed our old bread to the ducks at the river.
I stopped to get some penny candies (that are now 2¢ a piece) and a Dr Pepper.
This is what Whitney took while I was in the gas station.
Desiree & Whitney fight like cats and dogs in small confined spaces.
Meet Mr Monkey. He is Whitney's DI find from a couple of weeks ago. She wanted to bring him along and take random pictures of him in different places.
On the east side of the Snake River, there were more seagulls then ducks.
Whitney handed out the bread and I took the pictures.
Brittany and Hailey found two ducks to feed while the others fought over the bread.
"Ok, that's it, we're leaving. Get into the truck!" I said. But, really I drove them across the bridge to the west side of the river.
I love the west side because you can see this.
And there are a lot of cool places to take pictures, like this.
See the water falls? Pretty huh!
Mr Monkey wanted to swim.
Oh, how pretty!
but it's very dangerous
But oh so pretty. Eh?
I love this picture of Desiree. Maybe I should not have cut her hair?
Oh, I hate seagulls, and we live 900 miles away from any ocean.
"Here Ducky."
"The wind blew it out of my hands."
"Hurry! Take a picture of it too."
Whitney thought she missed it, but look...
This blog dose not approve of littering. I recommend using a trash can.
But it made a good photo adventure.
Two more pictures of Mr Monkey for the road.
He was lost in Whit's room for a few weeks, but now is found.
Memory Game
Here are the directions:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! You do not have to have met me in person as I have barely met any of you.
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty cool (and funny) to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. :) If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.
I got this one from Janie! She is the top poster on my blog, extra creative, and a fantastic blog friend I hope to meet in real life someday!
If you don't have a blog, I'll email you back a memory.
Julie ?'s
Julie wants to know the answers to these ?'s on her blog, so I decided to post the answers on my blog.
Do you cook your mac and cheese on the stove, or in the microwave? IN the box kind- on the stove top. But I also buy the frozen ones and I cook them in the microwave.
How do you feel about swimming in public? Do not do it, but when i do with shorts & a tang top over top my swimsuit.
Any super fun 4th of July plans? parade, bbq, & family.
How long does a freshly mopped floor last at your house? an hour if that
do your kids look a lot like orphans in the summer time? Yes.... Devin lives in the same shorts everyday. They are his favorite. But if we go somewhere they have to change.
