The tree we probably shouldn't have trimmed

While we were at my parents house, we worked, & Bob worked some more.
Bob re-did their deck, their fence & the kids and I worked on their yard.
Bob went jig saw wild on all of my parents OVER GROWN yard.

Remember this is the house I grew up in from 1974 tell 1990 & my parents still live there.

This was the branch that needed to go. It hung across the drive way and made a huge mess.

First he trimmed off little dead branches & the bigger ones off the "branch".

Devin held the pulley & I was at the bottom of the ladder. Bob was nervous.... & so was I.

My mom would have been too, but was working at the temple and didn't even see us do anything.

Then he cut down the "branch," while video taped.

Wedged it & pried it,

and he cut it bit by bit.

Timber!
(We also started to cleaned out their garage)

I wondered if it was going to fall on me or Bob for that matter.
Or if I could make $$ on America's Funniest Videos if it had.

Devin is 5'8" and that's the branch without it's limbs.

It was 51 years old.
Rest in Peace,
in the neighbors fireplace this winter.

Wow..look at those gorgeous trees and that boy of yours...he is getting so big!!! Fun story!! We have two huge cottonwood trees at the southwest corner of the farm that are easy over 100 years old. They are always losing limbs in the field, but we just do not have the heart to take them completely down. They were probably the first trees on this farm.....
